Position description: Kitchen Helpers are responsible for washing and re-shelving dishware and glassware, emptying garbage, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down food service tables, cleaning appliances, chopping vegetables, and assisting the cook. The kitchen area at times may have high humidity and temperatures.

Additional description: All employees are expected to learn several roles in the restaurant and will continue to work at the positions that they are best fit.

In the area: On their days off, they will be able to tour the museums and history of Kennebunkport, Boston and Portland. There’s no shortage of water activities here. Hit up one of several nearby beaches, kayak on the marsh, or splash in one of our campground pools! Not far from the restaurant is Old Orchard Beach, a thriving beach town with many different activities to enjoy. Shop at The Shops at Biddeford Crossing, the Maine Mall in South Portland, and the historic Old Port in Portland. In addition, they can visit and meet other students at University of New England, University of New Hampshire, University of Southern Maine and the University of Maine.

Provided by Host: Maine is a beautiful state with miles of ocean property. There are over seven miles of beaches from Camp Ellis to Old Orchard Beach. In addition, there are hundreds of state parks for hiking as well. The Amtrak station is a short distance from the restaurant and the student's housing where they can take trips to Boston, Portland and Freeport. In addition, we have staff outings such as BBQ's and trips to see the Portland Seadogs baseball games, a minor league affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
